Dear Parents, Emotional Support Adults, Supervisors, Guardians, etc.
It has recently come to our attention that many of our students are displaying signs of communism. We felt it was important to share things you should be on the look out for.
Excessive commentary on school district administrators, be that at the county or school level
Tendency to make jokes that no one understands, or to make references to things that no one has ever heard of. This may be an indication that they are reading too much.
Questioning teachers lesson plans, objectives, or content area focus. We are particularly concerned about students challenging American History lesson plans.
The wearing of turtlenecks and other fashion statements that might indicate a desire to not conform to our system of free markets, liberal democracy, and freedomness.
If you believe that a child in your domicile is communist, please let us know and we will have you contact the new Communist Resources Staff person.
Please remember to prioritize academics during the shut down and as we draw to a conclusion of the year, remember, prioritizing academics makes great younger learner scholars.
A Note from Dr. Flanagans, Superintendent of SCUSCD
Educators community leaders, and heads of various organizations frequently come to see for themselves what has been described as a, “Remarkable story of transformation.” By the time this book went to publication, the Sylvester County Unified School District had attracted hundreds of visitors from all over the world. Leaders visit Sylvester to observe and have conversations related to diversity, inclusion, implementation of transdisciplinary curriculum, technology initiatives, enhanced co-curricular offerings, instructional coaching, restorative practices, and more. Guests note that from the moment they arrive in the city, they are greeted with, and surrounded by, love. Dr. Flanagans shares his inspiring account of a cultural transformation taking place here at Sylvester County Unified School District.
“Please Be Mindful that Scholars May Not Wear Open Toe Shoes.” To enforce the rule, Ms. Agatha Glorioso will be at the entrance to inspect that all Scholar Footwear is appropriate. At lunch time, Cafeteria Supervisor Frances Franitelli will give a ten minute talk about Foot Wear, Hygiene, and Safe Food Handling Practices.
On behalf of the great staff and educator staff at Willard Collegiate Middle School, thanks and have a great weekend!
Principal Dr. Kevin Calvins, EdD

As per our decision of the School Board and in compliance with State regulations and under the guidance of experts at the Willard College School of Education, Sylvester County Unified School District has canceled the 2018 Spring Break that had normally been scheduled for next week and we therefore advise immediate cancellation of any planned travel and remind you that youth learners who are absent next week will make up the lost days during the fourth week of the summer break.
